For schools: one address on the BCC line

Almanak replaces nothing your school uses. It reads the notices you already send, and puts every date and amount into the calendars of verified parents.

What the school does

  • Adds one address to the BCC line of the notices it already sends. d6, SA-SAMS, Ed-admin or plain email all work.
  • Once a year: the list of parents' email addresses, or family codes that Almanak generates in one click and that you print on the fee statement or welcome letter.

The list is not admin for its own sake. It stops someone who only knows your school's name from buying a map of the school day. Without verification, an account sees nothing.

What parents get

  • All their children's schools and the aftercare in one calendar, in Afrikaans or English.
  • Every item with your original notice attached, word for word. Almanak never rewrites your words.
  • A Sunday summary of the week, and a reminder the evening before something needs money or a form.
  • A record of what they paid, with one tap.

What the school never sees

What a parent recorded. The record belongs to the parent. The moment a school can see it, Almanak becomes a debtors tool and no parent trusts it again.

The 15% to the school fund

Schools never pay. Each month the school fund receives 15% of the subscriptions of households with children at your school, with a statement an auditor can read.

  • One statement a month, by the 7th, with payment on the same day.
  • Counts, never names. No household is ever identified.
  • December's statement is sent too, even when it is nil.
  • Past statements are never reissued. Corrections appear as adjustments in the current month.
  • Where a family has children at two participating schools, the 15% is split between the schools. It is never more.

We suggest the governing body tells parents the amount and what it funds. If you would rather not, the school can take free staff licences instead.

Safety

Only verified parents see your school's content. Outings show the date only, never a time, venue or gate. Parents see their own children's grades, not the whole school. The detail is on the safety page.
